Metro Newspapers Russia commissioned to use these sketchy simplistic illustrations and self-created content in their 2 year campaign that targets customers to “Pick up Metro, for a better journey”. Each section of the newspaper is represented by a character e.g Fashion relates to a fashionista lady carrying a bag. The fun and carefree campaign brought a neat vibrancy as supposed to a cliché of how a newspaper brand is advertised.

Creating fun and interactive characters that would motivate readers on the bus, moving away from the mundane experience of newspaper reading.
Our approach was to create a set of characters in monochrome by using minimal colours to easily relate the advert to a Metro newspaper brand.
We found a way to present a unique character personality to the group of characters where we shuffled many ideas and picked the best match for all the sections of the newspaper.

Merchandises were quickly reflected to many items as the brand had a clear identity and engaging look.
